SURVIVAL CZECH

This course is meant for people who only want to learn how to “survive” in Czech with a very limited knowledge of the language. We will study grammar very briefly and we will only focus on phrases in certain situations. We will cover the following topics: general Czech (greetings, genders, conjugation of the most common/practical verbs), restaurant (ordering food, special requests, complaints), shopping (phrases, vocabulary, numbers), getting around (buying tickets, locations, getting directions).

BEGINNERS

We will make sure that your first interaction with the Czech language is going to be a smooth and pleasant experience! We are aware of how difficult and challenging Czech language is, so don’t worry, we will get you through!
We have the best experience with Čeština Expres textbooks, so we use this series, unless it’s some special course.

FALSE BEGINNERS

Have you already had a chance to learn some Czech grammar? Do things like ¨accusative, direct object, genders, numbers, -ovat model, á-model” ring a bell, but you are not 100% sure? Then this course is perfect for you! We will start with reviewing the basics, and then we will move on to new grammar points!

INTERMEDIATE (A1+)

This course is suitable for students who are confident using all three tenses (past, present, future), have wider vocabulary (common everyday objects and locations), and familiar with more than one case (accusative, locative). We will broaden your knowledge of cases, plus increase your vocabulary and add in typical Czech phrases and idioms.

ADVANCED (A2+)

Congratulations, we have great respect for you. But don’t worry, you are not done yet. There’s still plenty more to learn how to say, such as the declination of plural, to be able to flex those linguistic muscles. 95-100 % lekce je jenom v češtině.

PRIVATE CLASSES

Prefer to go at your own pace? You’re the star of the show. We accommodate your learning methods and abilities. Lessons are tailor made with only your advancement in mind.

INTENSIVE WEEKEND COURSE

Would you like to absorb as much Czech as possible, in a short amount of time? We have a weekend course for you! Once per month, we organise a weekend course which lasts 5 hours on Saturday and 5 hours on Sunday, from 9:00 – 12:00 and 13:00 – 15:00. We will cover some of the basics of Czech language in only 10 hours. You will learn greetings, genders, numbers, time, directions and conjugation of basic verbs in present tense. It’s going to be intense, yet fun!

EXAM PREPARATION

Need to take that Czech language exam to receive your residency Visa? Or do you just want to officially achieve a certain level of Czech? No problem! We’ve been through the process, and can get you the preparation you will require to pass stress free.

FREE CLASSES FOR LOW INCOME STUDENTS

We understand that sometimes people can get into very difficult situations and it seems impossible to get out with very limited finances. This class is designed only for people who lack the financial resources to pay for lessons, but think that knowledge of Czech language would rapidly improve their livelihood in the Czech Republic. If you think that you are in such a situation, send us an email and we will schedule a meeting with you.
REQUIREMENTS: 100% attendance and completing all homework assigned.

I took lessons through Everyday Czech for more than two years, and I can’t recommend them enough! My teacher Tereza prepared engaging lessons focused on speaking and our most problematic mistakes with Czech (started at A1+ and ended at the cusp of B1), which helped me develop my Czech language skills to the point of passing the A2 language exam for permanent residence. She was also very well organized, preparing presentations each week and taking extensive notes for new vocabulary, which were of course shared with us.

The online lessons were convenient, especially during the pandemic, and the price point makes it more affordable than other Czech schools for foreigners. My class was also quite small, which made it easier for everyone to have more speaking practice. If you’re a beginning Czech learner, check them out!

Absolutely would recommend Everyday Czech! I actually often do recommend them when I have friends looking for Czech lessons. Czech is a hard language (at least for native English speakers) and yet Anna and Miša and the entire team of teachers makes the learning environment fun and engaging. They make learning Czech seem possible and break down the difficulties in fun ways. As a teacher myself I really respect, admire and appreciate how much thought and effort goes into making my Czech lessons here what they are. Plus our group is amazing and I love chatting with them during the lessons. Whether in person or virtually during quarantine, the quality of lessons is 200%. Thank you so much for everything you do! 💕

Everyday Czech is a beacon of hope for those wanting to learn the elusive language. Anna is an absolute gem -- patient, kind, funny, and capable of pushing you just the right amount. Recently I've also had the pleasure of being taught by another instructor, Niki, who is equally encouraging and engaging with perfectly structured lessons. There's a notable difference in my language ability and confidence since beginning lessons with Everyday Czech. Stop dragging your feet and book a lesson, already!

I looked and looked for a good Czech teacher, trying about 8 teachers in all. I become convinced that Czechs simply weren’t very good at teaching their language to westerners. Either that, or I was just not smart enough to get it. I almost gave up. Then I found Anna. Young, full of enthusiasm, super positive-she was exactly what I needed. She tailored the lessons to my individual needs, and made sure they had variety and were fun. I look forward to my 90 weekly minutes with her, and feel more confident in my ability to speak and understand than I ever have. I can’t imagine a more passionate, prepared teacher. Anyone who studies with her should consider themselves very lucky.

I experienced some classes with Brett in Vietnam, in which each class includes about 25 university students. He is a enthusiastic teacher, an energetic man, who can inspire others by his actions and living attitudes. He always encourages students to keep going, to never give up, to have persistence in learning english to the end. I will never forget the nights when we have outside lessons together, when students stop doing the mission because of being tired, when time turns a little and little to the midnight, he still stands by us and let us keep going, take a hand to guide us continue finishing the mission. And I will never forget the moment after that, when we achieve the mission, and cry, and be thrilled and happy. Brett, he is also a responsible teacher too. Our classes always finish overtime because students want to ask more questions, because Brett never mind to answer all or stay later to help them finish all challenges in the class. He is a nice man, and an ideal teacher, who can inspire others just by his warm speaking. He's always ready to listen to students' issues and give useful advices too. I mean, he is a teacher who not only teach English, but also educate students to become good men. I'm appreciate that!
I send the best wishes to his new school with his wife! Wish the best for you guys!!!
